Spurs Secure Wilson Transfer as Arsenal Miss Out on Deadline Day

Spurs have secured the signing of teenage talent James Wilson on Transfer Deadline Day.

Arsenal was in discussions with Hearts to bring the striker in for a trial before a potential academy signing.

However, Tottenham completed a deal with the Scottish Premiership leaders on the last day of the January transfer window, outmaneuvering their local rivals.

Wilson will join Spurs on loan with an option to buy and is set to play for the under-21s team.

The 18-year-old made history as Scotland’s youngest international debutant last March, breaking a record that had stood for 138 years.

He has made 45 appearances for Hearts, scoring five goals, though he has played only 78 minutes in the Scottish league this season.
