Real Madrid’s captain out of El Clásico due to injury

Real Madrid remains determined in their pursuit of the La Liga title, but the challenge has intensified due to the absence of a key player. The club has officially confirmed that midfielder Arda Güler has sustained an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh, following medical tests. He is expected to be sidelined for four weeks, which means he will miss the highly anticipated El Clásico against Barcelona.

The El Clásico clash is set to take place on Sunday, May 10, with kickoff scheduled for 21:00 CET. Currently, Barcelona leads the La Liga table with 82 points, while Real Madrid trails in second place with 73 points.

In addition to Güler’s injury, Real Madrid centre-back Éder Militão has also suffered a recent injury, which prevented him from finishing his last match. Concerns regarding the severity of his condition have now come to light.

On a more positive note, Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has resumed training and is preparing for his return to the pitch, offering hope to the team amidst these challenges.
