Rashford Makes El Clásico History, a First Since Messi

In a thrilling encounter during the 35th round of La Liga, Barcelona quickly took the lead against Real Madrid, with Marcus Rashford scoring a remarkable free kick in the 9th minute, making it 1-0 for the hosts.

This historic goal marked Rashford as the first Barcelona player to score directly from a free kick in El Clásico since Lionel Messi accomplished the same feat on October 7, 2012, against goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Prior to Rashford’s spectacular strike, notable players who had scored direct free kicks in El Clásico included Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Raúl, Toni Kroos, Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappé. Rashford now joins this elite group of players.

As the match progressed to halftime, Barcelona extended their lead to 2-0, after Ferran Torres found the back of the net with a precise shot.
