Phil Foden Opens Up Following Man City’s Victory Over Palace

Phil Foden recognized he was not at his best during the first half of Manchester City‘s 3-0 win against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The midfielder scored two goals, complementing Erling Haaland’s two goals as City secured the victory at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Haaland started the scoring with a header from a Matheus Nunes cross towards the end of the first half.

Rayan Cherki played a key role before passing to Foden, who finished well in the 69th minute. Haaland later added his second from the penalty spot.

Foden has now netted six goals in his last four Premier League matches for City. He admitted to being careless with the ball in the first half but expressed confidence in his future performances.

Foden Reflects on Playing against Palace

“Every time I have been here, it’s always a challenge,” he stated to BBC Match of the Day. “It’s a close game with many duels. The second half was much better, and that was key.

“I’m really pleased with the goal. It helped us play with more confidence. I have been in good form lately, and I hope it continues.

“In the first half, I lost the ball too often and tried to do too much. Against Palace, you need to play more passes. That’s the level I aim for, and the manager expects more from me too.”
