Nigeria faces Morocco in a key Africa Cup of Nations semi-final tonight.

The Super Eagles aim to recover from their World Cup setback and are looking for success in this tournament. Nigeria has won all five matches so far, recently defeating Algeria 2-0.

However, they will face a strong challenge from host nation Morocco in the semi-finals. Morocco is the highest-ranked team in Africa and has only allowed one goal in their last five games.

Nigeria team news

Nigeria will be without captain Wilfred Ndidi due to suspension after receiving two yellow cards during the knockout stage.

Forward Cyriel Desser has also pulled out of the squad due to injury. Bright Osayi-Samuel is a doubt as he faces a late fitness test after being injured against Algeria.

Upfront, Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen will be key players. Lookman leads the tournament in assists with four, while Osimhen is the second-highest scorer with four goals.

Nigeria predicted lineup

Predicted Nigeria XI: Nwabali; Osayi-Samuel, Ajayi, Bassey, Onyemaechi; Onyeka, Onyedika, Iwobi; Lookman, Adams, Osimhen.

What time is kick-off?

The Africa Cup of Nations semi-final between Nigeria and Morocco is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Kick-off is at 8pm GMT.
