Man Utd’s Mainoo ‘Feeling Positive’ Amid Uncertain Future
Man Utd interim boss Darren Fletcher states that Kobbie Mainoo is “in a good place” amid uncertainty about his future at the club.
The 20-year-old midfielder has had limited playing time this season after a falling-out with former coach Ruben Amorim, who was recently dismissed from his role.
Mainoo made his return to the matchday squad this week, appearing as a substitute in the second half of Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor after recovering from a calf injury.
Although he hasn’t started a Premier League match this season and had expressed a desire to go on loan earlier, he might see more playtime as the club seeks a new manager.
Kobbie Mainoo ‘in a good place’ despite uncertainty over future
“He seems in a good place – Kobbie doesn’t show much, so it’s hard to tell how he’s really feeling,” Fletcher remarked. “That’s just his personality.
“But I know him well and have seen him throughout the season. We’ve had discussions, and I think he’s in a good place.”
“Kobbie knows me and is comfortable with interim first-team coach Travis Binnion, so he’s in a good environment and has been training well.”
