Liverpool set to sign Bundesliga defender as Robertson’s replacement

Liverpool is currently in pursuit of a left-back reinforcement and has set its sights on Borussia Dortmund defender Daniel Svensson as a potential replacement for Andy Robertson. The Merseyside club considers Svensson a key transfer target as it seeks to strengthen its defense.

Interest in Svensson is not limited to Liverpool, as Arsenal and Leeds United are also monitoring the defender. Additionally, Serie A teams such as Inter, Milan, and Atalanta are keeping a close watch on his situation. Borussia Dortmund has reportedly placed a valuation of around €35 million on Svensson but is hoping to increase that to €45 million should a competitive bidding war ensue.

Notably, Svensson joined Borussia Dortmund on loan from Nordsjælland in February 2025 before making a permanent switch. His contract with the German club extends until the summer of 2029, providing Dortmund with significant leverage in any negotiations. While there is no release clause in his contract, the club remains open to offers for the defender.
