Jess Thorup set to depart Al Ahly after season wraps up

Danish manager Jess Thorup will not see out his contract with Al Ahly SC, having spent just one season at the helm of the Egyptian club. Appointed in October 2025, Thorup is set to leave the club following the conclusion of the current season. Reports indicate that he will bid farewell on Wednesday, May 20, after the final match of the season against Al Masry in the Egyptian Premier League.

During his tenure, Al Ahly SC has faced challenges, with the team being eliminated in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League. Their performance in the league has also been underwhelming, and the club is currently engaged in a battle for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

🚨 Jess Thorup will leave Al Ahly at the end of the season.

The coach is expected to say goodbye to the fans tomorrow after the final league game against Al Masry.
