The Iranian national team has officially confirmed its participation in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, but has outlined several conditions that must be met by the tournament organizers. This World Cup is set to take place across the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
According to reports from Marca, Iranian representatives are scheduled to meet with FIFA in the coming days to negotiate the terms regarding the team’s involvement in the event. Discussions will center on ensuring a safe and respectful environment for the delegation during the tournament.
Controversy arose recently when Canada denied entry to some Iranian delegates due to their connections with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is classified as a terrorist organization. As a result, the Iranian federation has emphasized the need for guarantees before the team commits to the event.
Key demands from the Iranian side include the unrestricted issuance of visas, respectful treatment of national symbols, and enhanced security measures throughout the tournament. Additionally, the Iranian delegation expects security guarantees at airports, hotels, and training facilities during their stay.
