Super League Kerala: Kochi Suffers Seventh Defeat

Kochi: Forca Kochi FC’s difficult season continued as they suffered their seventh consecutive defeat in the Amul Sports.com Super League Kerala. In the seventh-round opener at Ernakulam’s Maharajas Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC won the match with a 1-0 scoreline.

The only goal of the game was scored by Khalid Roshan in the first half. The match was intense, with both teams finishing with ten players. Rijon Jose of Kochi and Sharif Khan of Thiruvananthapuram were shown red cards. Following this result, Thiruvananthapuram has climbed to the third position on the table with 10 points from seven games. Forca Kochi remains at the bottom with no points, ending their chances of making it to the semi-finals.

Thiruvananthapuram missed a great chance to score in the 8th minute when Otmar Bispoke found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat, but his shot went over the crossbar. However, they took the lead in the 17th minute. Abdul Badish provided the pass, and Khalid Roshan finished it perfectly to make it 1-0. Later in the first half, Roshan had to be substituted due to an injury and was replaced by Mohammed Shafi.

In the second half, Kochi brought on Mark Varghese for Amos Kiriya. Thiruvananthapuram’s Paulo Victor had a clear opportunity in the 61st minute but failed to convert it. The situation worsened for Kochi in the 66th minute when Rijon Jose received a red card for a foul on Paulo Victor outside the box. Despite bringing on Nijo Gilbert for Romario Jesuraj, Kochi could not find a goal. Thiruvananthapuram also went down to ten men in the 80th minute when Sharif Khan was sent off after getting a second yellow card.
