Ghana Appoints Carlos Queiroz as Black Stars Head Coach Ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup
The Ghana Football Association has announced the appointment of Carlos Queiroz as the new head coach of the Black Stars, starting preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This announcement came on Monday via an official statement from the football governing body. Queiroz takes over after Otto Addo’s departure in March, following a series of unsatisfactory results, including friendly losses to Austria and Germany.
With extensive experience in both international and club football, Queiroz has held key coaching roles at well-known clubs and national teams, such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, and the national teams of Portugal and Iran.
His primary objective will be to lead Ghana as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
