Gavi reacts to Tchouaméni and Valverde’s brawl, questions Arbeloa’s role

Barcelona midfielder Gavi has expressed his belief that disciplinary action should have been taken against Real Madrid player Aurélien Tchouaméni following a recent incident involving Tchouaméni and teammate Federico Valverde. In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the 21-year-old highlighted concerns over how the situation was handled by Real Madrid’s head coach, Álvaro Arbeloa.

Gavi criticized Arbeloa’s decision to allow Tchouaméni to participate in the following match, stating, “If you got into a fistfight, in my opinion, the coach should NOT have let you play the next match. If that’s true… then, for me, it was a mistake to allow (Tchouaméni) to play in El Clásico. But honestly, I don’t know what actually happened.”

The altercation has led to disciplinary actions from Real Madrid’s management, who fined both Tchouaméni and Valverde €500,000 each. Following the incident, the players subsequently issued apologies to one another.
