Frank Lampard Takes Coventry to Premier League After 25 Years

On Friday, April 17, Coventry City traveled to Blackburn and achieved a remarkable milestone.

Details: Coventry secured a draw against the hosts, ensuring their promotion to the top tier of English football. With 86 points from 43 matches, they are now 13 points ahead of third place with four games left.

This result guarantees they cannot finish lower than second place, confirming their return to the Premier League. Coventry was relegated from the Premier League in 2001, and now, 25 years later, they are back in the top division.

Coventry appointed Frank Lampard as manager on November 28, 2024. In the 2024/25 season, they finished fifth in the Championship but missed out in the play-offs. This time, however, they’ve clinched promotion outright.

Reminder: Tottenham lost 0-1 to Sunderland, keeping them in the relegation zone and increasing their risk of dropping further. Tottenham’s potential relegation could initiate significant changes within the club.
