First finalist for the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League announced

On Tuesday, May 5, the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid concluded with Arsenal securing their place as the first finalists of the 2025/26 tournament.

Details: The initial match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams successfully converting their penalties. However, the decisive moment came a week later when Bukayo Saka scored in the 45th minute, converting a rebound after the Atletico goalkeeper parried his initial shot. Atletico failed to respond, sealing their exit from the competition.

With a 2-1 aggregate victory, Arsenal has reached their first Champions League final in 20 years, the last being in 2006.

The second finalist will be determined in the upcoming match between Bayern Munich and PSG, with the second leg scheduled for Wednesday, May 6. The first leg saw PSG edge Bayern with a score of 5-4.
