Falconets Take First-Leg Win Against Malawi, Strengthening U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualification Dreams

Nigeria’s Falconets have bolstered their chances of qualifying for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a decisive 2-0 victory against the Malawi women’s national football team in a first-leg match held in Ikenne.

After a goalless first half, the Falconets broke the deadlock through an own goal from their opponents. Kindness Ifeanyi then added a second goal, cementing the hosts’ lead.

The Falconets will enter the return leg on May 9 with a comfortable advantage, while Malawi will be looking to mount a comeback on their home turf.
