Clubs will have another opportunity to compete for a prestigious trophy, as significant changes are anticipated within CONMEBOL.
Details: According to Alejo_deportes, the leadership of CONMEBOL is set to unveil the creation of a new tournament—the CONMEBOL Confederation Cup—at the 82nd CONMEBOL Congress scheduled for tomorrow.
The competition will include 32 clubs affiliated with CONMEBOL; however, Brazilian teams will not participate in the inaugural edition. The tournament is slated to commence in March 2027, with the champion receiving a $10 million prize.
Additionally, preliminary plans and proposals for the 2028 Copa América, which will take place in the United States, are expected to be discussed during the congress.
