Cape Town City Welcomes Former Al Ahly Star Walter Bwalya

The deal is finalized.

Details: Today, Cape Town City announced on their official X page that they have signed 30-year-old striker Walter Bwalya, who is also a member of the DR Congo national team.

He joins the team as a free agent, although specifics of his contract are not revealed.

Bwalya is expected to enhance the CT City attack, helping the team aim for a quick return to the Betway Premier League after their relegation last season during the PSL promotion playoffs, where Orbit College FC earned their promotion.

Bwalya previously played for Al Ahly in Egypt, joining them in 2021 from El Gouna for €1 million. However, he had difficulty securing a starting position with the club and was loaned to several teams, including Malatyaspor, Al-Sailiya, and Al-Qadisiyah, before leaving Al Ahly at the end of his contract in 2023.

Reminder: Breaking news! South Africa U20 captain Patrick Autata has joined Durban City.
