Super League Kerala: Calicut FC Defeats Thiruvananthapuram

Kozhikode: Calicut FC has won their match in the Amul Super League Kerala. In the first game of the fifth round, Calicut FC beat Thiruvananthapuram Kombans by a single goal.

The crucial goal came from Alexis Sosa in the first half, securing a key victory for Calicut FC. After five matches, Calicut FC is now in fourth place on the table with six points. Thiruvananthapuram Kombans are in fifth place with five points from their five games.

The winning goal was scored in the 13th minute of the first half, which saw attacks from both teams. Calicut’s captain Prasanth delivered a corner kick, which was headed into the net by Argentine player Alexis Sosa to make it 1-0. Despite several attacks, the Kombans could not score in the first half. In the 36th minute, another corner from Prasanth led to a header by Pereira that went just wide.

At the start of the second half, the Kombans brought on Shareef Khan and Rinan Arjavo to strengthen their attack, but they were unable to score a goal. The match was attended by 13,083 spectators.

The second match of the fifth round is on Tuesday, November 4, where Forza Kochi FC will play against Malappuram FC. The game will kick off at 7:30 PM at the Ernakulam Maharajas Stadium.
