Barcelona‘s chase for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni has gained strong backing from former Barcelona head of football Ariedo Braida.
The 80-year-old executive, who served at the Camp Nou from 2015-2019 after leading AC Milan, praised the centre-back despite his Inter ties.
Braida told Eram News: “It’s difficult for me to talk about an Inter Milan player after having worked for many years at Milan, but in my opinion, he is a great player and one of the pillars of the Italian national team.”
On a potential Blaugrana move, he added unequivocally: “Barcelona is a great club, and I think Bastoni will be a good signing and will achieve success with them.”
Braida, a close friend of president Joan Laporta, also supported extending Hansi Flick’s deal: “Laporta is a personal friend of mine, and Flick is a great coach, and I think the renewal will be good for both parties to continue with the successes.”
Flick, contracted until 2027, eyes Champions League glory and the revamped Camp Nou, with Barca failing in his first two attempts.
