Antonio Conte has had a remarkable career, and it’s continuing with his current role at Napoli.

The team won the Serie A title last season and followed it up with the Supercoppa Italiana at the end of 2025, marking two trophies in just over a year.

A lot of this success is due to his talent for building teams and making smart transfers, with Scott McTominay standing out as a prime example.

The former Manchester United midfielder joined Napoli in the summer of 2024 and won the Serie A MVP and Player of the Year in his first season.

Napoli also made headlines by signing Rasmus Hojlund on a season-long loan from United.

After struggling at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim, Hojlund has found his form, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 24 matches.

In a pre-match press conference covered by GetFootballItaly, Conte made pointed comments likely aimed at Amorim.

He stated, “Some young coaches today are arrogant and refuse to adapt. They see a young striker struggling and instead of training him, they place the blame on him.”

“They complain and blame everyone but themselves, as everything is given to them on a silver platter.”

Amorim’s inflexible 3-4-3 system contributed to his conflicts with Jason Wilcox and led to his departure from Old Trafford.

Although Conte didn’t name Ruben Amorim directly, his comments about a young, unadaptable manager make it clear who he is referring to.
