Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Antoine Griezmann will join Orlando City on a free transfer in July 2026.
“Antoine Griezmann to Orlando City, here we go! Verbal agreement in place for the French star to join the MLS side. Agreement for a free transfer from Atletico,” Romano tweeted.
He added: “After the March deal was rejected, we have an agreement for the summer. Griezmann will travel to the USA this week.”
This follows a previous unsuccessful attempt to complete the move, with both sides now agreeing on a summer transfer.
This marks the end of Griezmann’s latest time at Atletico Madrid, where he has been a central figure.

Earlier, Griezmann expressed a desire to stay at Atletico Madrid, despite links to Orlando City.

“That’s my dream and my goal, to achieve something big,” he added.
These earlier statements contrast with the new agreement, showing how quickly things can change in the transfer market.
