2026 WAFCON Qualifiers: Gambian Referee Ngum Fatou Set to Officiate Super Falcons vs. Benin Match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Gambian referee Ngum Fatou to oversee the first-leg match between Nigeria’s Super Falcons and the Benin Republic’s Amazons in the qualifiers for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

This match is set for Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the 25,000-seat Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo, starting at 4:00 PM Nigerian time.

Fatou will be supported by two officials from Mauritania: Mariem Chedad as Assistant Referee 1 and Hamedine Houleye as Assistant Referee 2. Isatou Touray from The Gambia will serve as the fourth official.

CAF has also announced that Halimatou Hamidou from Niger Republic will be the match commissioner, with Martha Nyekanyeka of Malawi serving as the referee assessor.

The second leg will take place at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta, Nigeria, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
